No lawful status after asylum is terminated

MANHATTAN — The Second Circuit affirmed the Board of Immigration Appeals’ decision to reject petitions for review brought by two noncitizens who sought to adjust their permanent resident status after their grant of asylum had been terminated. According to the majority, the law says only noncitizens with current asylum status can try to change to lawful permanent resident status.
