‘No Bail for Immigrants’ Class Action|Survives Against ‘America’s Toughest Sheriff’

PHOENIX (CN) - A federal judge refused to dismiss a class-action challenging a state law that orders undocumented immigrants to be imprisoned without bail for a wide range of crimes, including shoplifting and using a fake ID. Arizona voters approved Proposition 100 in November 2006. Lead defendant in the case is Joe Arpaio, who calls himself "America's toughest sheriff."
