LOS ANGELES (CN) - The mother of Nicolas Cage's only child says in a $13 million lawsuit that the Oscar-winner tossed her out of her home and inflicted "mental, physical and emotional" abuse on her and their son.
Christina Fulton says in Los Angeles Superior Court that Cage bought her a house because she gave up her acting career to raise Weston Copolla Cage, who was born on Dec. 26, 1990.
Fulton says Cage promised he would sign over the title if she ever wanted to sell it.
But Fulton says Cage never transferred the title, and instead served her with a 60-day eviction notice in September.
Cage and Fulton never married, "despite wedding arrangements, rings and plans having been made," the lawsuit states.
Fulton says after "living together off and on for approximately four years, and not being able to live with the mental, physical and emotional abuse inflicted upon her by Cage," she and Weston moved out.
She says since then, she has been his only caregiver.
Also named as a defendant is Cage's business manager, Sam Levin, who Fulton says caused her to be out more than a million dollars in taxes.
Cage also sued Levin in November, claiming his ex-manager lined his pockets with "several million dollars in business management fees while sending Cage down a path of financial ruin." Levin countersued, saying Cage had no one to blame but himself.
East West Bank sued Cage in October, claiming he failed to pay a $2 million credit debt.
