JACKSON, Miss. — A federal judge granted a newspaper publisher’s request for an injunction against the owner of a news app called NewsBreak, which searches the internet for content and fully reproduced the newspaper’s articles on Android devices. The app cannot claim that its blatant copying of the newspaper’s original reporting is fair use because there is nothing transformative about its display of the articles.
