New Mexico abortion ruling

SANTA FE, N.M. — The New Mexico Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision, struck down local ordinances that attempted to restrict access to abortion services, ruling that state law precludes cities and counties from interfering with access to reproductive health care. The state’s high court resolved the case based on state law and did not address whether the local ordinances violated the state’s constitutional protections.
