NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CN) - The City of New Brunswick and its Police Department found a new way to violate a man's civil rights: by arresting him for refusing an officer's demand that he stop talking on a cell phone in the back seat of a car, Kushuan Watson claims in Federal Court. He demands punitive damages and also sued Officer Langan, who arrested him and filed criminal charges against him. See complaint.
