LAS VEGAS (CN) - The Regional Justice Center was under lockdown for about 45 minutes Friday morning after an anonymous caller told authorities that his friend was going to kill a judge. No one was injured, and no weapons and no suspects were found after a floor-by-floor sweep of the courthouse, said Ramon Denby of the U.S. Marshal Service.
Judges were secured in their chambers, and all courtrooms were locked down. Those standing in the hallways were shepherded into courtrooms and other offices.
"It was only a hoax, but these things are taken very seriously," Denby said.
Denby said the caller didn't identify who his friend was, what kind of weapon he was bringing or which judge he was targeting.
