Nebraska Supreme Court

ATTORNEYS - The Nebraska Supreme Court found an attorney was properly disqualified from representing a plaintiff in a defamation claim because he had firsthand knowledge about the facts of the lawsuit, making his testimony at trial "essentially inevitable." He and the plaintiff developed a close personal relationship after meeting in an Internet chat room. Her lawsuit claims defendants falsely accused her of abusing and neglecting her children.
