Narcolepsy-detecting dog barred from work

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A construction company could not shake a narcoleptic senior superintendent’s ADA lawsuit in Arkansas federal court. The super alleges he was forced to resign because his superior directed him to stop bringing his service dog Zappa to work. A reasonable person might find that Zappa’s absence poses a serious safety risk to the 30-year construction worker because the dog alerts him to narcoleptic episodes, enabling him to work safely around machinery, equipment and materials.
