N.Y. Gallery Demands Return Of|Allegedly Stolen Warhol ‘Dollar Sign’

MANHATTAN (CN) - Martin Lawrence Galleries demands Christie's and Jason Beltrez give it an Andy Warhol "Dollar Sign" painting it says was stolen from the Soho Gallery on Valentine's Day 1998.

Lawrence claims in New York County Court that after Beltrez consigned the painting to Christie's in September 2007, Christie's found it had been stolen, but that Christie's and Beltrez refuse to return the 16-by-20 inch painting and silkscreen, worth more than $100,000.
