ATTORNEY FEES – The appellate division found that the nonparty law firm’s threat to stop working on the plaintiff’s malpractice action, and its demand for a new agreement allowing it to collect fees from the plaintiff’s settlement obtained in an unrelated case, constituted improperly coercive attempts to collect a legal fee. Thus, plaintiff properly discharged the law firm for cause. Reversed.
