N.Y. Appellate Divisions

ATTORNEYS, SANCTIONS - The appellate division reversed a $750 sanction against a law firm for failure to show up in court to represent a client, because the firm had hired a local attorney to appear in its place and settle the case. The firm should have notified the court and opposing counsel about the arrangement, but the imposition of a sanction was not warranted.
