N.D. Supreme Court

ATTORNEYS - The state Supreme Court suspended attorney Samuel S. Johnson for 60 days and ordered him to pay disciplinary proceeding costs of more than $8,600. Johnson knowingly made false statements that the Federal Fair Debt Collections Act prohibited his client from collecting on checks on which Johnson had stopped payment. Johnson's letter intended to intimidate the client to avoid paying witness and mileage fees that Johnson knowingly owed to the client and the client's father. See ruling.
