NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans jazz musician seeking his share of profits claims in a federal lawsuit that two songs from the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis album “The Heist” use samples from his recordings without permission.

The plaintiff is Paul Batiste dba Artang Publishing LLC.

The defendants are Ryan Lewis, Ben Haggerty aka Macklemore, Macklemore Publishing, Ryan Lewis Publishing, Macklemore LLC, Alternative Distribution Alliance, Andrew Joslyn, Allen Stone, DB Joslyn Music and Stickystones Publishing.
