LAS VEGAS (CN) - A moving company lost the ashes of a woman's deceased husband, she claims in Clark County Court. Grace Petashnick says she hired Oasis Moving & Storage in October 2008 to move her belongings from Wisconsin to her new home in Henderson, Nev., a Las Vegas suburb.
She says she "carefully packed" the urn before movers arrived to make sure it didn't break.
When the move was completed, plaintiff says she was forced to sign various documents and pay extra money before movers would unload her things.
"Plaintiff was not allowed to look at, inspect or otherwise review the property," she claims.
After her things were removed from the truck, Petashnick says she discovered that the urn was broken, and that her husband's ashes were missing.
Petashnick seeks at least $20,000 for compensatory and special damages. She is represented by Kirk Kennedy.
