LOS ANGELES (CN) - Henri Kessler, former president of The Motion Picture Group, claims its officers Evan Kay and Robert Smith cheated him on a movie called "Hounddog," ran a pump-and-dump stock scam so they could dump their shares of TMPG at inflated prices, and that "Kay made numerous death threats" to coerce and intimidate him while this was happening.
Kessler claims the alleged pump and dump scheme, run by email spam over the Internet, hurt him financially, as part of his pay was TMPG shares, and also hurt his reputation.
Kessler claims that he "individually, discovered a motion picture entitled 'Hounddog' featuring several well known actors, including but not limited to Robin Wright Penn and Dakota Fanning". Kessler claims that after he got the movie into the Sundance Film Festival, Kay and Smith horned in to exploit the movie to his detriment.
Kessler demands damages for breach of contract, conversion, fraudulent conveyance, unjust enrichment and other charges. He is represented in Superior Court by Brandon Reif.
