Most Charges Tossed|In Aspen Stock Case

MANHATTAN (CN) - A federal judge dismissed most securities-fraud charges against Aspen Technology and three of its executives, but let some charges stand against Aspen's former CEO David McQuillin, and allowed plaintiffs leave to replead common-law fraud charges against CFO Lisa Zappala and former CEO Lawrence Evans. Plaintiffs claim the defendants' false and misleading statements fraudulently induced them to buy $6.8 million of Aspen stock, whose value plunged when the alleged fraud was exposed.
