Mortgage Lenders of the Month

WASHINGTON (CN) - A string of lenders swindled a maid who earned $2,800 a month by selling her a $549,000 house with monthly mortgage payments of $4,770, taking $30,000 in fees and commissions for this, and then - surprise! - foreclosing, the woman's attorney claims in Federal Court.

The woman, who has a 9th-grade education, was victimized by a series of sharpies, beginning with a Century 21 Advantage real estate agent, according to the complaint. The defendants falsified the woman's monthly income as $13,500, then passed the paper along in a series of unconscionable acts, without bothering to verify their co-defendants' string of falsehoods, according to the complaint.

Here are the defendants: JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA; Chase Home Finance, LLC; John Stapleton, Wachovia Mortgage Corp.; Kayode Ojewale, LEHTEB Title & Escrow; Branch Banking & Trust Company; John Taylor, Century 21 Advantage; and AAPEX Mortgage.

The plaintiff is represented by Albert Wilson Jr.
