More Chaos in Wisconsin As Law Published

MADISON, Wisc. (CN) - With another legislative trick, Wisconsin's Republican rulers published the state's new anti-union law on Friday, despite a judge's restraining order prohibiting it.

A Dane County judge last week restrained the secretary of state from publishing the so-called Budget Repair Bill - the last step needed before it can take effect - so the state's Legislative Reference Bureau published it instead. Republicans said that makes the law effective Saturday.

The judge's order did not restrain the Legislative Reference Bureau from publishing the law - only the secretary of state's office.

The bill, Special Session Assembly Bill 11, prohibits public unions from collectively bargaining for anything other than wages.
