Monument Builders Lose Cemetery Antitrust Case

CINCINNATI (CN) - The 6th Circuit affirmed dismissal of an antitrust lawsuit accusing 20 cemetery operators and the Michigan Cemetery Association of conspiring to block independent monument builders from competing in the market by forcing consumers to buy burial memorials and plots together. The judges found the geographic market too narrow to sustain the builders' complaint.
