‘Mommy brain’ comment fuels sex discrimination suit

PHILADELPHIA — A former marketing manager can pursue sex discrimination claims in Pennsylvania federal court against her former employer, an e-commerce platform provider she says fired her three months after returning from maternity leave amid comments suggesting she had “mommy brain” and would be distracted by childcare responsibilities. A jury could conclude the employee’s supervisor relied on sex-based stereotypes about working mothers when deciding to terminate her during a company restructuring.
