Molested at Radio Shack, Woman Says

LEESBURG, Va. (CN) - Radio Shack hired a man with a criminal record, and he pulled out her breasts and fondled them in the store in front of her 4-year-old daughter, a woman claims in Loudon County Court.

The woman says Radio Shack knew or should have known that Ismael Bravo-Raez had a criminal history when it hired him: felony convictions for credit card theft, forgery and petit larceny.

She says she went to the store in the Dulles Town Center to buy a cell phone and Bravo-Raez offered her a discount if she "did something for him."

Frightened, she says she declined, but noticed upon swiping her credit card that she had been charged only $5.22 for a $250 phone.

She says Bravo-Raez then came around from the counter and "placed on arm around Plaintiff's waist and brought her in close, pulling down her shirt with the other arm and touching her breast as he did so."

She fled and filed a sexual assault complaint, for which Bravo-Raez was convicted, and served a 36-day jail sentence, according to the complaint.

The woman seeks $2 million from Radio Shack for negligence, and also sued Bravo-Raez for assault. She is represented by Christian Lapham with Cooch Lapham of Fairfax.
