Model & Playboy Editor Caught in Facebook Hoax

CHICAGO (CN) - A Facebook user posed as a Playboy editor to steal personal photos from an aspiring model, the editor and model say in Cook County Court. Samuel Jemielity, managing editor of Playboy's "Cyber Club" Web site, and Alissa Ohashi demand that Google and Facebook turn over the user's account information.

Jemielity and Ohashi claim that in December 2009, someone impersonating Jemielity used a Google email account to discuss career opportunities with Ohashi. The person created a fake Facebook profile for Jemielity, which persuaded Ohashi to send photos of a "personal nature" to the impostor.

Jemielity and Ohashi believe the user "infiltrated Ohashi's personal email and obtained sufficient information to impersonate Jemielity ..."

They demand electronic records and other documents to find the person or people responsible for the "malicious criminal actions."

If they find him, Jemielity and Ohashi say, they will sue him for defamation, false light, identity theft, theft by deception, invasion of privacy and/or copyright infringement.
