Mistaken arrest upheld

DALLAS — When Dallas officers pulled over a motorist and misspelled his name during a warrant check, they arrested him on another person’s felony warrant. But a federal court ruled that the motorist’s municipal liability, excessive force and false arrest claims against the cops and the city fail — in part because he was resisting arrest, in part because the police had probable cause to arrest him for failing to signal a turn, the original reason he was pulled over.
