ST. LOUIS (CN) - The mayor for the city of Kinloch was indicted Monday on charges that he used city funds to take personal vacations and to fund a Florida vacation home.

A federal grand jury returned a one-count indictment againt Keith Conway, 47, of felony wire fraud and federal program theft.

Conway has served as mayor of Kinloch, a city 15 miles northwest of St. Louis, since 1999.

Prosecutors say Conway used Kinloch funds for personal Bahamas vacation cruises, airline tickets to Las Vegas and Ft. Lauderdale, a down payment on a time-share condominium in Florida, personal credit card bills, personal federal income taxes and personal utilities between January 2009 and March 31, 2011.

If convicted, Conway faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines for the wire fraud charge and 10 years in prison and $250,000 in fines for the federal program theft charge.
