Missouri Governor & District Attorney| Say They’ll Return Contributions

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Gov. Matt Blunt and his opponent, Democratic Attorney General Jay Nixon, told the Missouri Ethics Commission that they will return all over-limit campaign contributions they received during the six months when the contributions were legal. Blunt will return $4.5 million and Nixon $1.3 million. The state did not have any limits from Jan. 1 this year until the Missouri Supreme Court reinstated limits on July 19. The limits are $325 to $1,275 per donor per candidate per election, depending on the office.
