Minnesota Supreme Court

TAX - The Minnesota Supreme Court reversed a ruling that a child-care center was not qualified for tax exemption on the grounds that it was an institution of public charity. An institution cannot be a purely public charity without satisfying the third factor of North Star, which examines the extent to which "the recipients of the 'charity' are required to pay for the assistance received in whole or in part."
