MINNEAPOLIS (CN) - In six lawsuits, the Minnesota Attorney General accuses so-called "foreclosure specialists" of defrauding homeowners by, among other things, claiming expertise they do not have, claiming to have helped "thousands" of people though they hadn't, falsely claiming relationships with "leading institutions," illegally demanding payment in advance, and so on.
The violations alleged above were made against Lewis Loss Mitigation dba Stop Foreclosure Center, and Lewis & Associates Consulting. Also sued in Hennepin County Court are National Foreclosure Relief; American Foreclosure Specialists; D.R. Financial Services dba D.R. Financial and Superior Home Loans; Mortgage Default Assistance; and Home Assure.
