PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine Supreme Court upheld a finding that a voter-approved ordinance providing for a higher minimum wage in the city of Portland during declared emergencies such as the pandemic does not violate the state’s constitution. The court also affirmed the ordinance doesn’t go into effect until Jan. 1, 2022.
