Military Cigarettes

WASHINGTON - Though the D.C. Circuit vacated her earlier dismissal, a federal judge again tossed a whistle-blower's claims that Philip Morris overcharged the U.S. military for cigarettes.

Since Philip Morris routinely charges its lowest cigarette prices to its duty-free affiliates and others, the 2008 complaint by Anthony Oliver, CEO of tobacco company Medallion Brands International, accused the Marlboro-maker of falsely telling the U.S. military that it was getting the best price.
