Microsoft Sues Sneaky Spyware Groups

SEATTLE (CN) - Microsoft claims that whoever runs the sites Registry Update, AntiSpyGuard and Scan & Repair Facilities induces computer operators to pay for software by maliciously misrepresenting to them that their computers are infected with a virus. The installed spyware is nearly impossible to erase, and the John Does abuse Microsoft trademarks to falsely claim affiliation with the company, in King County Court.
