Michael Jackson’s Mother |Gets Control of His Estate

LOS ANGELES (CN) - A judge granted Michael Jackson's mother limited control of the late King of Pop's estate after she claimed she wanted to round up the money for Jackson's three kids.

Katherine Jackson filed a petition to become special administrator of Jackson's estate - lately beset with lawsuits and bills -- for his kids: Michael Prince Jackson, 12; Paris Katherine Michael Jackson, 11; and Prince Michael "Blanket" Jackson II, 7.

Jackson said she feared an onslaught of fake wills and claimed that she could consolidate her late son's various businesses and bills.

The judge also gave the grandmother temporary custody of the kids.

"Public scrutiny of these proceedings makes it virtually impossible for the proposed Special Administrator to do anything inappropriate with estate assets or in any manner harm the estate's beneficiaries or creditors," the petition states.

Burt Levitch with Rosenfeld Meyer filed the petition in Superior Court.
