Mexican Avocado Producers Sue California

SACRAMENTO (CN) - A Michoacan, Mexico avocado producers association demands more than $6 million in damages from the California Department of Food and Agriculture, claiming California harassed, delayed and illegally inspected truckloads of Mexican Hass avocados from the day that imports were opened - Feb. 1, 2007 - until litigation forced the State to end its harassment on July 18, 2007.
