MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Two Tennessee residents claim in a patent lawsuit seeking $1 billion that Medtronic wrongfully used their “secret process” and “know how knowledge” for a mechanical resuscitator device and procedure for treating heart attacks.

The plaintiffs are Darrell K. Thompson, William T. Holt, deceased, Leatha J. Holt and Newair Manufacturing LLC.

The defendants are Medtronic Inc., Physio-Control International Inc., Physio-Control Inc., Jolife AB/Physio-Control, Bain Capital Inc. and Stryker Corp.
