Medical care in jail

SHERMAN, Texas — A federal court in Texas denied Collin County’s request to dismiss a woman’s suit alleging violations of her right to medical care while she was detained at the county jail. The woman has plausibly alleged that a policy of avoiding off-site medical care for inmates — save for life or limb-threatening conditions — caused the “avoidable death of her unborn child.”
