University of Nebraska Regent Robert Prokop claims the college newspaper, The Daily Nebraskan, defamed him in an editorial headlined "Regents must be held to high standards." In his pro se filing, Prokop says the newspaper's comments were "scandelous" (sic).

Houston Chronicle photographer Melissa Phillip claims she was injured while shooting a Big 12 football championship game at Reliant Stadium when the platform she was standing on collapsed. She sued Stageright Corp., Harris County Sports and Convention Corp., and Contemporary Services Corp. dba Contemporary Security Corp., in Harris County Court.
