McDonald’s Accused of Hiring Impostor

KANSAS CITY (CN) - A black woman claims McDonald's where she used to work allowed a Hispanic woman to work there under her stolen identity after she resigned.

Staci L. Simmons, whose maiden name is Jobe, claims she resigned from the job in 2005, only to learn that McDonald's hired another Staci L. Jobe in 2006.

"In fact, the 're-hired' Staci L. Jobe was an impostor engaged in an open, obvious and blatant confiscation, misappropriation and use of plaintiff's personal identity and identification information," Simmons claims in Wyandotte County Court.

She claims her former managers surely knew about the scam, because the other Jobe was Hispanic and never provided legal documents establishing her identity.

The alleged impostor worked in the fast-food restaurant as if she was Simmons for almost two years, the lawsuit claims. Simmons says she first learned about the impostor in 2008, after noticing irregularities in a financial transaction.

She is suing McDonald's owner Devera Management Corp. for negligent hiring, negligent security and invasion of privacy. Her attorney is Stephen Dickerson.
