Match sanctioned in FTC action

DALLAS — A federal judge in Texas sanctioned dating website operator Match Group for failing to timely produce relevant emails to the Federal Trade Commission in litigation accusing the company of using unfair tactics to trick people into buying paid subscriptions on Match.com. The FTC is granted extra time to conduct depositions, which must be financed by Match Group. Stronger sanctions are not appropriate because the late disclosure was due to a technical glitch.
