SEATTLE (CN) - Seattle residents traded in their Gore-Tex raincoats for arctic parkas as a winter storm dumped several inches of snow and paralyzed the city. Just the threat of snow was enough to close Seattle schools Wednesday, giving kids a snow day without the snow. The blast arrived Thursday morning, snarling the morning commute as drivers abandoned cars in the middle of roads.
The Federal Court was closed for the day, but King County Superior Court was more optimistic. It announced a two-hour delay in opening, but as the snow continued to fall, the Court's message changed to "closed early."
