Managers Lied, Wounded Woman Says

FORT WORTH (CN) - A woman claims she lost an eye when a neighbor in her apartment complex fired a shotgun through a wall. She says apartment managers assured her they screened tenants to bar felons, but the complex actually "participated in a program to place felons on its property."

Jennifer Cox says she was shot in her home at Collins Pointe Apartments in Arlington, Texas. She sued SRA Management dba Olympus Property Co. She demands punitive damages for gross negligence and deceptive trade.

Cox is represented in Tarrant County Court by Heath Hyde of Dallas.
