RIVERSIDE, Calif. (CN) - A man who forced a 14-year-old girl into prostitution was sentenced Monday to 17 ½ years in federal prison.
Kawaum Marquez Scott, 24, of Quail Valley, pleaded guilty in May to sex trafficking of a child.
His co-defendant, Nekeyia Necole Weatherspoon aka Keey Bee, 22, of Perris, pleaded guilty at the same time to conspiracy to engage in child sex trafficking, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a statement.
They took photos of the girl and posted them on Internet ads, and took all the $2,500 she earned from prostituting herself to multiple men for two days in a hotel in Hemet, the U.S. attorney said.
Weatherspoon will be sentenced on Sept. 8. Her plea agreement calls for her to spend 7 to 14 years in prison.
