Man Sues Hospital for Telling Police |He Swallowed Two Bags of Heroin

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CN) - Staff members at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital invaded a patient's privacy by telling police officers that he swallowed two bags of heroin, Jason Davis claims in Waukesha County Court.

When Davis went to the hospital to get the bags removed, he says he "disclosed certain information which he reasonably believed would be confidential."

He claims hospital operator ProHealth Care Inc. and nurses Vicki Checolinksi and Allen Seeley "had a duty not to disclose medical information regarding patients with members of the public, including law enforcement."

Davis was charged with felony drug possession based on the disclosure, but the charge has since been dropped.

He demands actual and punitive damages. His attorney is Daniel Fay of Pewaukee.
