LOS ANGELES (CN) - A Montrose man accused of breaking into Sandra Bullock's residence while she was at home was criminally charged Tuesday, state prosecutors said.
Joshua Corbett, 39, is accused of breaking into Bullock's home at about 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, entering the property after scaling a fence, Deputy District Attorney Wendy Segall of the Target Crimes Division said in a statement.
Bullock, 49, was home at the time, the prosecutor said.
Police responded to a 911 call from inside Bullock's home. It is not clear if the actress made the call herself. Corbett was not armed when he entered Bullock's home, the prosecutor said, though he was charged with possession of a machinegun. Bullock was not harmed.
Corbett was charged with one felony count each of first-degree residential burglary, stalking and possession of a machinegun.
If convicted, he faces up to 7 years and 4 months in state prison, the L.A. County District Attorney's Office said.
Corbett was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
Prosecutors want bail set at $185,000.
Bullock won an Academy Award for her leading role in "The Blind Side" and is known for her starring roles in "Speed" and "Miss Congeniality."
