Man Accuses Chicago Police of Brutal Attack

CHICAGO (CN) - Chicago police officers stopped a man for no reason, handcuffed his wrists and ankles, pulled down his pants and sodomized him with a billy club, after one officer said, "We can all take turns on him," the man claims in court.

Cordero Hightower sued the City of Chicago for battery in Cook County Court.

Hightower claims he was walking to a bus stop on his way home from a nightclub last November when several police officers stopped him.

"A female Chicago police officer asked where plaintiff was going," the lawsuit states. "A male officer then asked plaintiff for identification. Two to three additional officers then arrived. The officers mocked plaintiff's physique and a female officer commented, 'We can all take turns on him.'

"The Chicago police officers handcuffed plaintiff at both the wrists and ankles, and placed him in a paddywagon face down. The officers covered plaintiff's face with a blindfold or mask, and pulled down plaintiff's pants. One or more of the officers attacked plaintiff with a blunt object, believed to be a billy club, and penetrated plaintiff's anus with the blunt object," Hightower says.

"The outrageous conduct described above occurred without plaintiff's consent and without cause or provocation on the part of the plaintiff," he claims.

Hightower says he required medical care after the attack and is permanently disfigured.

He demands $50,000 and punitive damages for the alleged battery.

His attorney is Bradley Skafish with Deutschman & Associates.
