Man Accused of Pimping Girl on Craigslist

SANTA ANA, Calif. (CN) - A Florida man solicited a 17-year-old girl through her MySpace page and then put her on a bus from Florida to Las Vegas so he could pimp her on Craigslist and on the streets, prosecutors say.

Christopher Tyrone "Staydown" Young, 28, of Orlando, Fla., was arrested on Tuesday in San Diego on charges of child sex trafficking.

Authorities began investigating after a 17-year-old girl who identified Young as her pimp was arrested for prostitution, according to a federal complaint filed in Santa Ana.

The girl told police that she was a runaway from Florida, that Young told her he would make her a "star," and that he had a house, cars, and money.

Following her arrival in Las Vegas, Young allegedly took explicit photos of her and posted them on Craigslist with an add offering her services. Young gave the girl a cell phone so Craigslist callers could reach her and a fake ID so that she could rent hotel rooms, authorities say.

Young had the girl work the streets in Las Vegas by day and the internet by night, according to the complaint.

He later brought her to Orange County and had her walk the streets in Anaheim, Pomona and Montclair with another girl whom she believed had been with Young since the age of 15, prosecutors say. They add that Young had unprotected sex with the girl and gave her the drug ecstasy.

If convicted, Young will serve at least 10 years in prison.
