LOS ANGELES (CN) - Movie Clean claims to be more moral than thou, but it's breaking the law, Paramount Pictures and 10 other major studios say in Federal Court. Movie Clean, of Beaufort, S.C., has illegally copied more than 500 major motion pictures to DVDs, "cleaned them up" by "alter(ing) or remov(ing)... dialogue and scenes which Movie Clean deemed 'objectionable'" and then sold the Bowdlerized versions on DVD-Rs, which have no copy protection, the studios say. They demand an injunction and damages for copyright violations. They are represented by Karen Thorland with Loeb & Loeb. See complaint.
