Major Car Rental Firms Accused Of Fixing Prices

SAN DIEGO (CN) - A federal class-action antitrust complaint accuses Hertz, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Avis Budget Group, Vanguard Car Rental USA, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and others of fixing prices on rental cars at California airports. The conspirators also allegedly misrepresent a 2.5% tax owed to the co-defendant California Travel and Tourism Commission as owed by customers, though it is owed by the businesses. See complaint.
