Magazine Says Megyn Kelly Also Was Object of Ailes Ardor

MANHATTAN (CN) — Just over a week after former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson alleged Roger Ailes sexually harassed her, another report—this time involving Fox superstar Megyn Kelly—has surfaced with similar allegations.

According to a report today in New York magazine, two sources connected to Fox News' investigation into Carlson's allegations dredged up more allegations by Kelly that involve an incident sometime in the mid-2000s, when Kelly was just a reporter at the network.

Kelly has not spoken publicly about the allegations against her boss.

Carlson filed her bombshell lawsuit earlier this month alleging that Ailes made sexual advances toward her on several occasions. It also accuses former Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy of putting his hand on her and "shushing her" during the program. Carlson was taken off the show in 2013. She was let go from the network on June 23 after her contract expired.

After the lawsuit was filed, several other former Ailes employees came forward with similar allegations. Ailes reportedly has until Aug. 1 to resign from the network, after which he may be fired.

Last week Ailes filed to have the lawsuit moved to arbitration in New York City, stating in a filing with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that the complaint should have been filed in New York, where Carlson was employed.

The filing also said that Carlson's attorney has "made statements going well beyond the ambit of what might be protected by litigation privilege" and that the lawsuit was designed to "besmirch Mr. Ailes's reputation so that he will pay her an exorbitant settlement."

21st Century Fox has denied repots of Ailes' impending departure. A spokesperson for the company declined to comment on the report regarding Kelly. Kelly, who has garnered greater attention after sparring with Donald Trump during the 2016 primaries, was promoted to her own show in 2010. Three years later she made it to prime time.
