Madoff Scheme Spins Off Slew of Litigation

MANHATTAN (CN) - Ascot Partners lost $1.8 billion by trusting it to Bernard Madoff, and $3 million of it belonged to the New York Law School, the college claims in a federal class action. It also sued Ascot general partner J. Ezra Merkin and Ascot's auditor, BDO Seidman.

(So many cases are being filed around the country in Madoff's alleged $50 billion Ponzi scheme that Courthouse News will not attempt to track them. This case is representative of the roughly half dozen class actions already filed from coast to coast.)

NY Law is represented by Stephen Rodd with Abbey Spanier Rodd.
