Lyft Drivers

A superior court judge in San Francisco denied Lyft drivers’ motion for an emergency injunction to make the rideshare company classify them as employees so they can obtain state-mandated sick leave. The drivers claim the company misclassifies them as independent contractors. 

SAN FRANCISCO — A superior court judge in San Francisco denied Lyft drivers’ motion for an emergency injunction to make the rideshare company classify them as employees so they can obtain state-mandated sick leave. The drivers claim the company misclassifies them as independent contractors.

The judge granted Lyft's motion to compel arbitration of the claims.
